Microsoft Teams Premium features : End To End Teams Meeting Encryption

Hope every one is doing good. Today we are going to talk about the one of the fantastic features in Microsoft Teams Premium , which would be more secure for top managements people who usually conducts high confidential meetings

Using Microsoft Teams Premium features like end to end encryption, watermarking, and meeting templates we can create highly secure confidential meetings. Use these meetings to talk about our sensitive projects, patents, new products, HR conversations, and more.

This Topic is going to talk about the top secret inside the meeting, something confidential where you can ensure other than the meeting participants inside the meeting can have access to

Previously we cannot setup the high confidential meeting in MS teams. Usually in the past we have always done the that the members of this confidential meetings pulled them in to the room, closed the door and curtains and start the conversation

Now a days we are working in the remotely, its important to have these types of conversations confidentiality using the products like MS Teams

Couple of months back Ms introduced the feature, its came out from teams premium called end to end encryption

Teams premium has so many feature, and This feature is increasing the confidentiality with more meeting options, because it give more confidence that someone talks about the company patent or secret projects, etc Other than the members inside the meeting, cannot listen in to the conversation including Microsoft

There is difference between the regular type of encryption in the meetings in teams and end to end encryption

You may wondering, why this feature is needed as Microsoft already encrypted the calls and the answer is yes.

it always been encrypted, but we had encryption using the technologies that allow encryption at rest in transition and using the protocol like TLS and SRTP to encrypt the real time media and the signalling traffic.

But end to end encryption is different and ensure that the traffic is encrypted at sender client and decrypted at receiver clients

No one can access the traffic in between the decrypted one including MS

The following feature are not available when you enable the end-to-end encryption meetings

Live Captions and Transition
Recordings
Large Gallery, Companion mode, Breakout rooms
PowerPoint Live and Excel Live

That might be OK, as we are conducting the confidential meetings you don’t want to record the conversations anyways

Up to 50 participants in end-to-end encryption meetings, we can turn on the features like, watermarking our videos, apply water marking your shared contents and changing the lobby parameters, like, only the people supposed to be allowed in the meetings are allowed in

As admin, we setup the meeting templates to create this type of confidential meetings, so that end user simply selects the confidential meeting from MS Teams client and join

This is one of features in MS Teams premium version and lot more inside the premium like advance virtual appointments, TimeLine for shared recordings, Custom backgrounds for organizations, Intelligent recap etc..

First we need to create Meeting Template, as per our business needs. Check with your security team and enable the available features in the Meeting templates

So in the meeting template, we have two which will automatically available in meeting template policies

Top Secret Meetings
Confidential Meetings

Hidden templates is something on which end users cannot see them from their clients. In my case, I hide Virtual Appointments. End users cannot use the virtual Appointment feature from MS Teams client
